Really solid for nonprofits

I grabbed Aplos during a 20% off new subscriber deal, which was a nice bonus. Their Financial Reporting and General Ledger features are fantastic and so much clearer than what I dealt with in QuickBooks Online. My only small nitpick is I wish their support hours were a bit longer on weekends.

Good features, some setup quirks

I signed up for the Fund Accounting Software after trying the free trial. The features for tracking restricted funds are really strong, much better than what we had before. Financial Reporting is also quite comprehensive once you get the hang of it. My main issue was the initial data migration from our old system; it took a bit longer than I expected, and customer support was helpful but sometimes slow to respond to my tickets. I also noticed that the interface, while functional, could use a modern refresh. Overall, it's a solid tool for the price, but be prepared for a learning curve if you're switching over.

Good value for a startup nonprofit

As a new nonprofit, budget was really tight, so I spent a lot of time comparing options. Aplos seemed to offer the most for the money, especially with their startup nonprofit discount I found. I opted for the annual billing to get that extra saving. The General Ledger and Accounts Payable features are robust enough for our current needs, and the cost was significantly less than some competitors. It felt like a smart investment. The 15-day free trial really helped me make sure it was the right fit before committing. I think I made a good decision for our budget.

So easy to use for our nonprofit!

Oh my goodness, Aplos is amazing! We just started using their Nonprofit CRM and Donor Management, and it's changed everything for our small organization. Setting up Custom Giving Pages was a breeze, and I loved how intuitive it was. My team has really taken to it quickly. We were struggling with spreadsheets before, and now everything is in one place. I can't believe how much time we're saving. I'm already telling other nonprofits I know to check them out. Definitely shopping here again!

Consistent performance, good for churches

This is our third year using Aplos, and they're still delivering. We started with the Church Management Software and added Online Donation Tools later. This latest renewal for our annual subscription was as smooth as ever. The recurring giving feature has been especially consistent for our members. I've always found their Bank Reconciliation to be reliable, and it saves us a lot of time each month. It's good to know we can count on them for our needs without any surprises. It just works, which is what you want.

Does Aplos have good reporting for annual stuff, like Form 990? That's always a nightmare for us.

C Cody Osei 1 month ago
Yeah, it actually has specific tools for Form 990 reporting. Made our lives so much easier at year-end.

It's one of its strong suits. Much better than trying to cobble it together manually.

Thinking about paying annually instead of monthly to save some cash. Is the discount worth it?

A Amber Vargas 1 month ago
Definitely. We save like 10-20% doing annual. If you're committed, it's a no-brainer.

K Kevin Bennett 1 month ago
Yeah, it adds up. Worth it if you plan to stick with them for the year.

Anyone know if they do special discounts for really small, new nonprofits? We're just getting started and every dollar counts.

D Dana 2 months ago
I heard they sometimes have startup non-profit discounts. Might be worth asking their sales team directly, it's not always advertised upfront.

Yeah, I think I saw something about that on their site a while back. Not sure if it's ongoing, but worth checking.

Thinking of switching from QuickBooks. Is Aplos really better for non-profits specifically? QuickBooks always felt a bit clunky for our fund accounting needs.

T Troy Hughes 2 months ago
Definitely. We moved over from QB a couple years ago. Aplos is built for fund accounting from the ground up, makes a huge difference compared to trying to force QB to do it.

For churches and nonprofits, Aplos is way more intuitive than QB. I think it handles designated funds much better.

Is Aplos really secure for all the donor info and financial stuff? Kinda paranoid about putting all that online.

T Troy N. 1 month ago
They seem to take security pretty seriously. All our data's been fine there for years. Plus it's cloud-based so you're not managing servers yourself.

K Kate 1 month ago
From what I understand, it's industry-standard security. I haven't heard any red flags.
